Kicking off the Greater Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival

About the Festival

Back again for its 12th year, the Greater Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival is up and running all over Vancouver. This year, the festival is featuring some of the best chocolatiers, cafés, bakeries and ice cream shops that the Lower Mainland has to offer. All in an effort to make these dark winter days a little less gloomy, and a LOT more yummy!

Running from January 15th to February 14th, 44 small businesses from all over Vancouver will give their take on the classic drink, in the hopes of creating an incredible hot chocolate recipe that nobody has seen before. In total, there will be over 100 delicious flavours to taste across the various locations.

Lower Lonsdale’s own Café Artigiano will be participating in the festival, with two flavours to try:

FLUFFERNUTTER HOT CHOCOLATE
Hand crafted chocolate peanut syrup, whipped marshmallow with shaved chocolate. Served with a Fluffernutter cookie: peanut butter, marshmallow, chocolate chips.

SALTED MISO HOT CHOCOLATE
Salted chocolate syrup, miso powder, Vancouver Island salt, Callebaut pearls, caramel sugar. Served with a salted dark chocolate chip cookie: white miso, Maldon salt, cocoa, chocolate chips.

We’re super excited to visit Artigiano during the festival to try both their delicious sounding options! Click here for a full list of flavours and a virtual map of where to try each drink:

Instagram Photo Contest

This year, the Greater Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival is also hosting an Instagram Contest for the public to compete in! Contestants will be competing for a total of $1,125 in gift certificates from participating vendors in the festival.
