North Shore’s First Multi-Roaster Coffeehouse: Alchemy Coffee

If there was anything else our hood needed, it was a new coffee shop. Whether you’re meeting with clients or grabbing something to go, it’s great to have options. So we’d like to welcome Alchemy Coffee, now open on Lonsdale between 3rd and 4th street.

Alchemy Coffee is an independent coffeehouse run by siblings. They provide traditional espresso beverages as well as drip coffee, but what sets them apart is that they are the only multi-roaster coffeehouse on the North Shore. They have a menu of local roasters such as PalletModus and Timbertain as well as Calgary’s Phil & Sebastian all available as 12oz pourovers, perfect for the craft coffee enthusiasts.

But wait, there’s more.

Breakfast and lunch items made fresh daily including breakfast sandwiches, traditional Italian paninis, spanikopitas, and breakfast cups with overnight oats or chia pudding served with a fresh berry compote. They also have many fresh home baked goods like carrot cake, banana loaf as well as Two Daughters gluten-free cookies and Erin Ireland’s To Die For vegan banana loaf and breakfast cookies.

When asked why they chose Lower Lonsdale?

Lower Lonsdale made sense to us for several reasons, some personal and some business oriented. We are born and raised in North van and lived around the lower Lonsdale area until 2008, until we made the move to upper Lonsdale and it just felt right to be on Lower lonsdale; on a business level, the area is growing rapidly which is refreshing. Lower Lonsdale needed a coffeehouse that wasn’t a big chain and the development and growth in Lower Lonsdale is nothing short of a renaissance. Our concept was simple – to bring the coffees we love from across the water and over to the North Shore!

Alchemy opened their doors February 17th. Pay them a visit and follow them on Instagram to stay connected!
