North Vancouver Spirit of the Season Festival

from 3 pm - 7 pm by attending It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Join in on the festive fun this Saturday, December 3rd the City of North Vancouver's very own Spirit of the Season Festival at the Shipyards! Enjoy the holiday cheer with warm hot chocolate, ice skating, live music and plenty of Christmas spirit!

The holiday festival will begin with a special visit from Mr. and Mrs.Claus followed by an Indigenous welcome ceremony at 3 pm from Squamish Nation and Tsleil-Waututh Nation.

Shortly after, our mayor Buchanan will light the 30ft Christmas tree, pictured below! You won’t want to miss out on all the joyful activities the Spirit of the Season Festival has planned for our North Vancouver community, including Skating at the Skate Plaza! The Shipyard Commons outdoor skate plaza is the region's largest outdoor skating rink. This rink offers daily skating, free helmets and skating aides are easily accessible! Missing skates? No problem! Head over to the rental booth where skates are available for rent at 7$ for adults and 5$ for kids! And that's not all that will be included in the Spirit of the Season Festival!

 
 

Activities presented by local community organizations:

  • Free hot chocolate and a variety of food trucks

  • Holiday artisan market at The Pipe Shop | 12 pm-6 pm

  • Musical performances by the local groups including Ridgeway School Band, Carson Graham Vocal Jazz Choir and the Casey Thomas-Burns Christmas Quartet Jazz Group

  • Ice skating performances by Le Patin Libre

  • Contemporary dance routines by Perform Arts and Methods of Modern Movement

  • Roaming holiday characters, including Disney’s Anna and Elsa | 4:30 pm-5:30 pm

  • Holiday stilt walkers
